The kids got their first report cards before school let out for the holidays. Let’s just say that they passed. All we are asking of them this year is that they try hard, and learn (much more) Spanish. So, for now, their grades are perfectly acceptable.
On a related note, their in-school personalities have remained the same, despite the change in language. If you know my very different children, you probably can guess what that means. In other words, I understood exactly what their teachers were saying at our parent/teacher conferences because I’ve heard it all before. (“muy serio” y “cabeza en las nubes”, por ejemplo)
Regardless of our struggles and successes this semester, we’re lucky to have such brave kids.
